T shirt design mock ups (Screen printing)

T shirt design mock ups (Screen printing)

The thought of using a neon pink rock bra on a t shirt representing gender equality through a lighter hearted conceptual, lateral approach subversively wearing a uni sex t shirt that would hide a message and encourage others to investigate this cause.

The pink rock bra concept contrasted with the original headline act abstraction created an image of Bastille's front man (Dan) wearing a pink rock bra over his original clothes, thematically conveying this message. Powerful, intriguing aesthetics used in conjunction with a more subtle yet stronger concept was the route I intended to go down. The halftone photographed style was useful at that also conveyed that rock, minimalism/protest feeling due to its simplicity but also gave me the option to screen print my designs. The pink bra carries a notion of females 'owning their sexuality' and men fully backing up this female opinion, hence the t shirts being created unisex.

Designing my t shirts led me onto realising that the screen which I had coated was only A4 in size and that the largest my design could be was demonstrated below.
An alternative location for my design to be printed has been considered due to it's ineffectiveness in the previously considered location.
Alternative location
Through breaking down the original design, I have created this variant which has slightly more substance as a screen printed visual. The pungent colours give off attract more attention but convey less of a literal message.
Completely different design
The area which I had to screen print had been determined by measuring an A4 sheet of paper over my the t shirts I would print on. Having preconceptions in my mind that an A4 area would fill more of a t shirt than I have discovered.
A4 sized area in relation to this t shirt
Ideally the design  below is how I intended my t shirts to appear once completed. (with additional text.)
Ideal size of design
Conclusively I must know decide whether to alter this design to fill the space more, creating a more effective and powerful statement or to create something new.

The location of the Bastille print conveyed a subversive message, being located on these longer t shirts in the genital region of each wearer, again communicating the difference in gender but promoting this cause and expressing 'owning your sexuality'.
The central location of the image was the most eye catching and considered composition for this piece, with limitations of only being able to print with an A4 fabric screen, this central location has made the most of what I had access to.

The unisex t shirt would feature this eye-catching shocking pink rock bra being worn by Bastille's front man, where the t shirt would be worn around festivals not so much in a direct protest way but attempting to be more resolute than typical protest campaign styles.
