Thumbnail sketches - Lorde Team:

Lorde vinyl covers
The first series of sketches for a specific single were based on what came to mind in in the first instance of hearing the name of the singles, the middle selections were informed from research and the final were ones which related to the songs, drawings which related in a practical way
Diamond
The diamond at this stage, alone, looks very feminine and representational of: Jewels, feminine things and fashion, these aren't the things which I wanted that to represent at this stage, but it is based on "A hundred jewels on throats A hundred jewels between teeth", and how in my analysis of Lorde and her song, she talks about diamonds and wealth, and how not everyone has that, and how people are behind the celebrity lifestyle, something which she seems to be against.
Angry dog on lead
This design on the left is based on the line ""The hounds will stay in chains", I have used this as an aggressive image to reflect the tone of Lorde's lyrics in her songs, I feel she is rebelling against culture with her lyrics, and the dog's expression shows this.
 Row of diamonds
This row of identical diamonds is an expansion on the first diamond design, and is a better use of the first practical form of it, shown in a different composition. Each diamond has a stroke outline around the perimeters of the shape.
Jewels on throats
The left design relates to the sentence "A hundred jewels on throats", one that is based solidly on the sentence, making it very practical and subjective.
 The crowned 'e'
I researched of how Lorde's name has an E on the end to make it less masculine, simply an E with a female crown on it could represent Lorde.
Unfortunately this image doesn't relate to her song specifically, but it could look pretty if developed and I could relate it to her song Team.
Lorde e
This piece of typograph contains the artist's name, but the masculine part of it, Lord', has had it's opacity reduced, this leaves the 'E' alone which has been made to look more female, again, a play on her name and how she's made it less male orientated.
This design contains the artist's name, for this reason it wouldn't be a secret therefore be able to be part of the competition.
