Studio brief 4 - Project proposal:

Having been set the final project of module OUGD405 Design Process, continuing on from the brief 'Collect, Categorise, Communicate' which relates to the previous two projects, we are to identify a problem from our research and provide an answer to the dilemma.
After putting in the research into firstly nature, which then led onto religion in nature and then finally the religion effecting the youth, I propose to create certain pieces which will attempt to target the youth who have previously left religion, or ones who aren't informed about religion.
I will attempt to do this in the form of fashion, the medium being designer t shirts, which the profit will go to a charity such as the YMCA, which in turn will educate young people about Christianity, in an attempt to increase the population of young Christians in Britain.

Who needs to know?
Young people interested in both fashion and possibly Christianity, or parents who are attempting to encourage their children to join/re-join Christianity.
What/why do they need to know?
Young people must know of the decline of Christianity of the youth in the UK and in turn will be informed to visit a local church or parish to see how Christianity could benefit them.
How will you tell them?
The stylish designer T shirt will be the selling point, in adverse to receiving information in a 'cold caller' style which wouldn't interest the young, and also with the T-shirt, the customer would receive a christian pack which would inform of reasons they should visit a Church.
You must identify whether you are trying to EXPLAIN, INFORM, INSTRUCT or EDUCATE the audience?
The audience would firstly be educated by my product and the gift pack that is part of the product, then hopefully they will go on to be educated by the Christian Church into religion.
What will the audience respond to, where will they look?
The T shirts would be markets in modern, trends shops such as River island ect, as that is where the target market of this product could shop.
How will they need to interact with it?
By reading the gift pack and following the instructions.
How will you know it is working?
In all honestly, I wouldn't directly know, in theory the profit received from the sales of the t shirt will go to a charity, so that could be an indication.
Questionnaires and feedback could indicate wether a teenager would buy that specific t shirt.
Will it be a; collection of, a presentation of or instructions to.
I intend for it to be a range of t shirts as well as a gift pack including various paper leaflets and a stylishly designed box.
What is the tone of voice?
Informative as well as educational.
