Studio Brief 2 - Progress of Spreads

The progress of my spreads is shown here, the middle stages I was at after begging and setting up my modular grid, to collating the information and images, and then filling my spreads with the found and written knowledge.

My introduction page at moment is very text heavy and wordy, something which may put off a person who was to pick up this publication, or view it as a PDF.
I intend to combat this by adding a large introductory image which will be vibrant, eye catching and encapsulating, to keep the audience engaged and in anticipation of what's to come.
The text shall be shortened and paragraphed better to show a lesser block of harsh body copy, which would mean the spread was more inviting to the audience.

The contents page at the moment makes use of the modular grid's form to explain what is found inside the book, the words have been leaded to fit inside the grid, but at the moment this appears startling and far too filling of the leaf of this spread. This shall be adjusted into something more user friendly and design relevant whilst still filling the page and maintaining order and theme.

My Sans serif VS Serif page again is swamped with body copy text and the grid I have chosen means that the paragraphs are spaces apart and I realise it could be a problem for the viewer to get lost amongst the text and begin reading the wrong paragraph.

The imagery is fine as it is at the moment and that shall not change, but more shall be added to fill in the gaps as I dont intend to add more body copy, feeling that the page is already swamped.

Currently my grid systems theme is going down a route where a lot of text and little imagery makes the page uninviting, un engaging and not very interesting. I have chosen to impose my own grid system onto the bottom of the spread to show an example of a grid system, which in the case is very appropriate as it is the grid of these spreads. Something which I find quirky and fitting.

More images will be added to the spread to make the text have context and to help explain my findings.
The Muller Brockman quote fits with the spreads and the text box and type shall by changed so the font is more fitting to the spread and flows as well as the rest.

RBG vs CMYK is a spread which I began early on with and for this reason I am happy with it's progress, it was the begging spread of this publication and for this reason, it began the theme I was going for. So far I am happy with the text and imagery, but I shall re evaluate this at the end to see if it fully fit the theme with the rest of the spreads.

My spread about the topic of Pantone is also one which is fully completed, at this stage. I feel this spread does not require anymore work, and I shall revaluate the aesthetics of this spread in correlation with the other's at the end of the design process.

I am happy with my progress at this stage, I am seeing these spreads and evidence of my years collection of knowledge and a way to publish them into a coherent publication.

I understand how I still have many more spreads to complete, but I feel If they turn out as well as the previous ones have, then I should fly through the process.
